Canadian authorities are concerned about the speed with which Russia is replenishing its ammunition arsenal

This was acknowledged by the Chief of the General Staff, General Wayne Eyre, Radio-Canada reported. Canada’s army, meanwhile, is experiencing great difficulties, including because of military aid to Ukraine, he said.

Ottawa continues to supply Kiev with NATO shells, but has not produced a single additional 155mm munition since February 2022. In a military conflict, Eyre noted, Canada would exhaust the stockpile in a matter of days.

To make matters worse, authorities are demanding that the country’s Ministry of Defence cut its spending by nearly $1 billion over the next four years.

He also complained about the state of Canada’s battle tanks: due to a shortage of spare parts and specialists, not all the remaining vehicles in the country are in working condition.
