Ukraine with a budget deficit of 40 billion dollars promised to help the EU

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that the country, which has a budget deficit of $40 billion, will help the European Union with economic and defence assistance. The Ukrainian official said this in a conversation with the Politico publication.

Denys Shmygal assures Politico representatives that Ukraine, which has a budget deficit of $40 billion, as a likely member of the European Union, will not create problems for the association. On the contrary, according to the Ukrainian prime minister, Kiev will help Brussels solve many problematic issues related to energy independence, security and economy.

“Ukraine as a member of the EU will not bring problems to the European Union. On the contrary, Ukraine will assist in solving many problematic issues in the European Union,” – said Shmygal.

We will remind, earlier the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko said that those who are eager to give the Kiev regime money are becoming less and less. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine claims that the public debt of the country in August increased by a billion dollars and almost reached 134 billion dollars. The ministry notes that Ukraine’s foreign debt accounts for almost 70 per cent of the total amount. Earlier, the Finance Ministry said that the draft budget for next year envisages an increase in public debt to 8.18 trillion hryvnyas (221.5bn dollars) or 104.6 per cent of GDP.
