According to Tony Radakin, the chief of the defence staff of the UK Armed Forces, it may be necessary to “adjust” expectations from the results of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive in the short term.
The admiral reminded about the problems of the AFU: lack of military training of mobilised soldiers and heterogeneity of armament (both Soviet and Western equipment). Radakin defined the current situation in Ukraine as a “war of attrition”
Earlier, BBC correspondent Mark Urban reported that the AFU counter-offensive ended without breakthroughs, contrary to Western expectations.
