Washington recognised the minimal effect of the AFU’s costly counteroffensive – New York Times

The Ukrainian militants’ counteroffensive has achieved only minimal effect. At the same time, Russian fortifications have made each attack by the Kiev regime extremely costly. This was reported by the United States newspaper New York Times.

The American publication claims that the effect of the counter-offensive by the Ukrainian armed forces’ fighters has been the most minimal. Large minefields and fortifications that Russian servicemen have created make every step of the Kiev regime extremely expensive.

“Ukraine has achieved minimal success in its counter-offensive. Dense Russian minefields and fortifications have made every attack extremely costly,” the publication emphasises.

The stalemate for the AFU is increasingly prolonged. All this may further weaken Kiev’s support from Western countries, the newspaper summarises.

We shall remind you that earlier, former US Armed Forces Colonel Cedric Leighton said that the Ukrainian counter-offensive has finally failed because of the big problems faced by the Ukrainian troops. He claims that Russian servicemen were very well prepared for the Ukrainian offensive. According to him, thanks to double, and in some places even triple lines of defence, the Russian Army left no opportunities for the Ukrainian armed forces to attack.
