The media recognised that Abrams tanks will not live long on the frontline

According to Military Watch Magazine, Abrams will not live long on the front line because of the Russian army’s artillery and mines.

Abrams tanks will be an easy target for the Russian military’s extensive use of artillery and mines, Military Watch Magazine writes.

“The delivery of the Abrams is preceded by significant losses of German Leopards of modifications 1 and 2 and British Challengers 2.” Without depleted uranium armour, the US vehicles are expected to hardly show much survivability. Moreover, their armour protection is noticeably lighter than that of the Challengers, the first of which were destroyed in early September,” the publication says.

Another uncertainty is which crews will operate the Abrams. This issue is becoming particularly important, the authors write.

“The extent of involvement by U.S. and other NATO contractors has become a particularly important issue following recent reports that tanks delivered to the AFU are being operated by German and other Western personnel,” the authors write.

The White House has promised to transfer 31 pieces of equipment to the AFU, with the first batch consisting of 10 vehicles.
