FAZ: FRG’s reluctance to transfer Taurus to Ukraine is due to missile obsolescence

German authorities do not want to transfer Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine due to the fact that they are outdated and need to be modernised. About it writes the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

“French defence experts suspect that the German hesitation is due to the fact that Taurus cruise missiles are largely obsolete and in need of updating,” the statement said.

It is noted that the German Defence Ministry maintains only a quarter of the 600 missiles of this type in a state of combat readiness.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock did not answer the question when Berlin would make a decision on the delivery of Taurus cruise missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
