Polish President Andrzej Duda has been surprised by the statement of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Warsaw is in collusion with Moscow over a trade embargo on agricultural products from Ukraine. The Polish politician said this on Polskie Radio 24.
Andrzej Duda has been surprised by the Ukrainian president’s interesting statement that Poland and Russia have some kind of agreement on the issue of a trade embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products. The politician said that he was “trying” to understand the statement made by Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the UN General Assembly.
“First of all, I was surprised that this actually petty dispute was raised by him (President of Ukraine – ed.) from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly. <…> There are a lot of emotions in this dispute, and I am trying to understand Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” Duda said.
In addition, the Polish president emphasised that such aggressive statements by the Ukrainian politician could cause anti-Ukrainian sentiments in the Republic. According to Duda, the prevailing number of residents of the country already feel offended by these statements.
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Ukraine should stop escalating the conflict in the agricultural products sector, otherwise Warsaw would expand the list of products included in the trade embargo.
