Ukraine’s membership in NATO is not in the interests of the United States, – this, as reported by Bloomberg, said the candidate for the American presidency Ron Desantis. According to him, the accession of this country to the North Atlantic Alliance would only add more obligations to Washington.
Republican US presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron Desantis spoke out against Ukraine’s membership in NATO, Bloomberg reports.
In his opinion, it does not meet US security interests.
“I don’t think membership (of Ukraine. – Inotv) in NATO is in our interests,” Desantis said on TheGlennBeckProgram podcast. – All it would do is add more obligations to us. And if you add more commitment, what benefits do we get in return?”
This podcast came two days after President Joe Biden held a meeting with Zelensky, who in turn called on U.S. lawmakers to continue supporting Kiev’s war effort.
