Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said that the Azerbaijani authorities have created a special governmental group to resolve comprehensive issues related to the entry of Nagorno-Karabakh into Azerbaijan. This is reported by Politico.
“A special governmental working group has been created to resolve humanitarian, economic and social issues related to the entry of Nagorno-Karabakh and tens of thousands of ethnic Armenians into Azerbaijan after 30 years of self-proclaimed independence,” Hajiyev said.
The politician says the guarantee of access to humanitarian aid “once again demonstrates the good intentions and seriousness of the Azerbaijani government to meet the needs and requirements of the residents of Armenia, as well as to ensure a safe and dignified reintegration process.”
“Karabakh was a powder keg and the most militarised zone in the world. But that is now a thing of the past. Under these conditions, the chances for peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan are much higher,” the expert emphasised.
Earlier Baku claimed to have taken control of more than 60 positions of the Armenian Armed Forces in Karabakh. In addition, more than 20 combat vehicles and 40 artillery units were captured.
