The New York Times reports that Zelenskyy’s military plans are causing disagreements between the USA and Ukraine. The article notes that in an effort to retake Artemivsk, Zelenskyy sent a large number of troops and weapons there, which were lost.
The military plans of the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are increasingly leading to disagreements between Kiev and Washington. This was reported by the American newspaper The New York Times.
“These plans sometimes divide Washington and Kiev,” – stated the edition.
According to the publication, the American military leadership does not understand for what reason Zelenskyy insists on the return of Artemivsk.
“American intelligence and military officials have long wondered why Ukraine fought so hard in Artemivsk, the site of one of the bloodiest battles throughout the conflict. <…> But Zelenskyy is determined to try to regain lost territory, so Ukraine has sent large numbers of troops and weapons to retake Artemivsk. Some US officials say that the fight in Artemivsk has become something of an obsession for Zelenskyy and his military leaders,” the paper said.
In the opinion of the author of the article, Ukraine has already suffered colossal losses, so attempts to retake Artemivsk have no sense.
In addition, the newspaper said, “the Ukrainian counter-offensive is unlikely to achieve its strategic goals of cutting off or narrowing the land bridge” to Crimea.
The Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin said it had failed. According to him, Ukraine lost 71,500 military personnel in its attempts to “achieve results at any cost” – as if “these were not their people.” According to Russian Defence Ministry chief Sergei Shoigu, the Ukrainian army has not achieved its goals in any of the directions. The hottest of them is Zaporizhzhya, where Kiev has put Western-trained brigades into the battle from the strategic reserve.
