The Washington Post reports that many Republicans in the US Congress intend to vote against aid to Kiev.
Many representatives of the Republican Party in the US Congress intend to vote against the allocation of further aid to Ukraine, it is “hanging by a thread”. This is the opinion of Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin.
“Aid to Ukraine hangs by a thread,” the headline of the columnist’s article reads.
Rogin writes that the US is shifting its attention to the 2024 presidential campaign.
“U.S. aid to Ukraine is increasingly vulnerable… When the next tranche comes up for a vote in Congress, the number of Republicans voting against it will be high,” the article notes.
Democratic Party spokesman Pat Ryan said in a conversation with the journalist that “a significant portion of Republicans no longer support” sending aid to Ukraine.
“More needs to be done to prove to the American people that this aid is not only critical to Kiev, but also provides a high return on investment for U.S. security,” Rogin writes, citing the Democrat.
