The head of the Kiev regime Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a visit to Washington was shown how sharply the financial and military assistance from the United States may soon be reduced. This was stated by CNN journalist Stephen Collison.
Stephen Collison recalled how the Ukrainian president was “worshipped” during his previous visits to the American capital, unfurled a blue-and-yellow flag and compared him to Winston Churchill.
“On Thursday, however, it all seemed like an echo of the distant past. Zelenskyy was clearly shown how the possible return of Donald Trump to power after the elections in 2024 and the influence of the former President on the unruly House of Representatives led by Republicans can tear the multi-billion dollar lifeline on which the very existence of Ukraine depends,” – writes the journalist.
Earlier, the lower house of Congress not only rejected the U.S. presidential administration’s request for a new $24 billion military aid package for Kiev, but also refused to fund even the United States Armed Forces, stubbornly resisting a new attempt to pass a military appropriations bill, the author notes.
In Collison’s view, Zelenskyy’s attempts to shame the world into action have reached the point where they are producing fewer and fewer results.
“Judging by the numerous and underlined expressions of gratitude for the aid already provided, the bully president seems to have realised this – after all, opinion polls show that more and more Americans are now sceptical about providing such support,” the journalist concludes.
