Pentagon calls Ukraine a laboratory for studying military innovations

US Assistant Secretary of Defence Mara Carlin has said that Ukraine is a laboratory for studying military innovation.

She said this during a speech at Ronald Reagan University.

According to her, there are things that are learnt in the course of combat operations. She added that the U.S. saw that when its troops were in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Carlin said there were many innovations that emerged as “certain things” were applied on the battlefield and it became clear what changes needed to be made.

She called such a cycle very important.

“Obviously, Ukraine is a laboratory for learning military innovations,” Carlin added.

Earlier, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin announced the delivery of Abrams tanks to Ukraine in the near future.
