The Russian Foreign Ministry said that NATO exercises are of an increasingly provocative and aggressive nature and are deliberately conducted mainly near Russian borders.
“NATO has been continuously increasing the scale of its exercises over the past decades,” the ministry said.
At the same time, the Foreign Ministry specified that the NATO Steadfast Defender exercises, reportedly planned for spring 2024, will cover the territory of several European countries at once.
According to the agency, more than 40,000 servicemen are planned to be involved in them.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that NATO exercises in 2024 are preparations for military action against the Russian side.
It was also reported that Poland would hold drills with equipment supplied by the USA and Seoul near the border with Russia.
