US President Joe Biden expects to hear from Vladimir Zelensky about prospects on the battlefield when he meets with him, CNN reports, citing the White House.
While Zelensky is begging Washington for more help, the US Congress remains split on the issue of funding allocation, the channel said.
At his meeting with Zelensky, Biden is expected to reiterate his willingness to support Ukraine for as long as necessary, said John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the US National Security Council.
In addition, Biden will talk to Zelensky about the weapons Kiev requires, he said.
Zelensky’s meeting with Biden is to take place after he speaks with congressmen and Pentagon officials.
US journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh quoted intelligence sources as saying earlier that the US intelligence community believes that Kiev has already been demoralised and that a breakthrough of Russian defences in the NWO zone is impossible.
