Canadian authorities intend to dispose of dozens of old armoured vehicles despite calls from private companies to refurbish them and deliver them to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This was reported by CBS television channel with reference to the Canadian Ministry of Defence.
“67 out of 140 units of tracked light armoured vehicles are parked awaiting final disposal,” the report says.
In addition, the Ministry of Defence said that all M113 armoured personnel carriers are currently in poor condition and are also awaiting disposal.
At the same time, a number of Canadian private defence companies have offered the authorities to refurbish the obsolete equipment and hand it over to Kiev.
It is noted that so far the authorities have not responded to these proposals.
In July, it became known that the UK Defence Ministry in 2010-2014 utilized more than 40 Challenger 2 tanks, which, according to local military experts, could have been transferred to Ukraine.
