Coordinator for strategic communications in the White House National Security Council John Kirby said that US President Joe Biden at a meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky wants to hear an assessment of the situation in the conflict zone.
“The President wants at this meeting to get an assessment of the situation on the battlefield directly from the commander-in-chief of Ukraine,” he said.
The White House spokesman also noted that Congress needs to approve additional funding for a new aid package, Joe Biden’s administration continues to discuss the supply of longer-range ATACMS missiles.
“But no decisions have been made yet,” he said.
