The Commission of the United States House of Representatives is preparing to hold the first hearing on the impeachment of US President Joe Biden on 28 September. This is reported by Reuters, citing sources.
Reuters reports that the US House of Representatives, which is headed by Republicans, plans to hold the first hearing on the impeachment of the head of the White House on 28 September. According to the agency, the House Oversight Committee, chaired by James Comer, said it would consider constitutional and legal issues at the upcoming hearing.
The agency emphasises that the House Committee also intends to request in court the personal and commercial banking records of the US president’s son Hunter Biden and James Biden, who is the brother of the White House chief of staff.
According to Reuters, Republicans claim that Biden profited from Hunter’s business deals while serving as vice president from 2009 to 2017. However, the agency specifies that at the moment representatives from the Republican Party have not released any specific evidence of misconduct on the part of the head of the White House.
We will remind, earlier the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy said that the Committee of the lower house of Congress began an official investigation in the framework of the impeachment procedure against the President of the United States Joe Biden.
