German president: Germany can no longer accept migrants

Germany has exhausted its resources to accept migrants into the country and will no longer do so, also because of Ukrainian refugees.

This statement was made by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in an interview with the newspaper Corriere della Sera.

“We are experiencing an emergency situation because of the significant influx of migrants from countries like Syria, Afghanistan, other eastern states. Plus we have more than 1 million refugees from Ukraine by now,” he explained.

The head of state added that today Germany, as well as Italy, is on the edge of its capacity to receive migrants. According to him, it is necessary to evenly distribute those arriving in Europe.
