More than a million Ukrainian refugees in Poland will remain without financial support in 2024. This is reported by Bloomberg agency with reference to the official representative of the Polish government Piotr Muller.
Bloomberg reports that Poland is very likely to stop financial support for Ukrainian refugees in 2024. Piotr Müller previously told Polsat TV channel that support for Ukrainians, which includes the cancellation of residency and work permit requirements, free access to schools, health care and family allowances, will not be extended next year.
“These rules will simply cease to apply next year,” Mueller said.
Poland’s Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy Anna Schmidt stressed that during May, the Republic spent about 2.4 billion zlotys ($550 million) to support children of Ukrainian families who fled to the country. Bloomberg believes that such measures will further aggravate relations between Kiev and Warsaw.
