The German defence ministry has said that it did not discuss possible Taurus deliveries to Ukraine at the Ramstein base. The German Defence Ministry’s state secretary, Zimtje Möller, said that the next few months would be very difficult for Ukraine.
The topic of possible deliveries of long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev was not discussed at the Ramstein meeting. This was reported by State Secretary of the German Defence Ministry Zimtje Möller.
“At the moment it has not become a topic here (in Ramshtain), and what has become a topic is air defence, ammunition and artillery,” said Möller, who is replacing Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, who fell ill with a coronavirus, at the meeting today.
The main topic of the meeting, which is being held at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on 19 September, as the Pentagon said earlier, will be the coordination of allies in providing Ukraine with the necessary assistance. At the same time, Møller stated that the coming months will be very difficult for Ukraine.
“There are cold, muddy and rainy months ahead. That is why we decided to put together a €400 million package to support endurance,” the State Secretary pointed out, recalling that Kiev has already received a mobile field hospital.
