Former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo has described Ukraine’s lawsuit to the WTO over the ban on the import of its grain to a number of Eastern European countries as the height of insolence. He believes that the country has once again shown itself as an unserious partner.
Ukraine has once again shown itself as an unserious partner, demonstrating ingratitude for everything that Slovakia has done for it. This opinion was expressed by former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo.
“Ukraine’s complaint against Slovakia for banning the export of agricultural products is the height of insolence and yet another confirmation of what an unserious partner Ukraine really is,” Fitzo wrote on his social media pages on Tuesday.
According to him, the Slovak government has turned the country into a whipping boy whose opinion is no longer asked for.
“Ukraine was whistling, and we always and everything was delivered until our warehouses were completely empty. As they say, a good deed does not go unpunished,” Fitzo added.
On 15 September, the European Commission decided not to extend restrictions on imports of four types of Ukrainian agricultural products to several EU border countries. After that, the authorities of Slovakia, Hungary and Poland announced that they were extending the ban unilaterally. Ukraine responded by filing a complaint with the WTO against these countries.
