Germany’s ambassador to Beijing has been summoned to the Chinese Foreign Ministry over German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock’s words about Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Earlier, Berbock in an interview with the American TV channel Fox News called Xi Jinping a dictator.
“German Ambassador to Beijing Patricia Flor was summoned to the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Sunday,” Spiegel said in a statement.
Also according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning, Berbock’s words about Xi Jinping are absurd and an outright political provocation.
