Spiegel: AFU can’t cope with Russian minefields

The Ukrainian military says it cannot cope with Russian minefields, Der Spiegel newspaper reports, citing an AFU soldier.

“We don’t have modern F-16 fighter jets yet. They (Western instructors. – RT) tell us to avoid mined areas. How to avoid? Everything is mined here,” one of the Ukrainian servicemen said.

According to the AFU soldiers, the counter-offensive turned into “three months of hell” because of the mines.

The publication notes that the Ukrainian army is suffering heavy losses in equipment and manpower.

Earlier, German military analyst Franz Stefan Gadi said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive would soon end due to exhaustion.
