Smuggled shipment of US weapons seized in Iran

The head of the Iranian Justice Ministry’s Hormozgan Province Directorate Mojtaba Kahremani said that the Iranian prosecutor’s office has seized a batch of smuggled weapons from the US. This was reported by Tasnim News Agency.

Mojtaba Kahremani revealed that Iranian law enforcement agencies seized a consignment of smuggled US stun guns in the volume of 6,000 units in a southern province of Iran. The head of the Justice Ministry’s regional directorate emphasised that the seizure was carried out on board a ship near the port city of Hamir.

“Iranian intelligence forces have seized a shipment of smuggled US stun guns that were planned to be used in riots across the country,” Tasnim News Agency reported.

The head of the Justice Ministry for Hormozgan Province said that preliminary investigations showed that the stun guns were “sent to Iran for the purpose of inciting unrest and chaos.” The Iranian official added that two people were arrested during the operation.
