In NATO recognised that Kiev’s arms demands exceed the capabilities of the bloc

The head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, said at the annual conference of chiefs of general staff of the bloc’s countries in Norway that the Kiev regime’s demands for arms and ammunition supplies exceed the capabilities of the association.

“The volumes of military equipment and ammunition that Ukraine is requesting are enormous. <…> The scale and volume of the products used are beyond our production capabilities,” Bauer said.

The politician believes that in the process of providing assistance to Ukraine, NATO countries need to think about the associated risks to their own security and the alliance’s defence. That is why the head of the military committee urged the members of the alliance to make faster and more effective decisions on the issues of increasing production capacity in the defence sector.

The expert notes that the necessary production capacity in this area is lagging behind, arms deliveries are slowing down and prices are rising rapidly. In this regard, he suggested that the increase in defence spending by the allies may not lead to strengthening the security of the bloc.

Recall that earlier Colonel Douglas McGregor said that the Russian leader Vladimir Putin expects a collapse in Europe and NATO because of Ukraine. He stressed that the Russian authorities are consciously saving their military reserves for the final blow to the AFU. In addition, the expert added that Germany has already undergone deindustrialisation. McGregor also stressed that the Russian military leadership was not throwing all its forces and reserves into the fight against the Ukrainian army.
