Canada to provide $24 million in air defence supplies for Ukraine

Canada will allocate 33 million Canadian dollars (about 24 million US dollars) to a UK-led international partnership to provide Kiev with air defence equipment, according to the Canadian government’s website.

“Canada will contribute $33 million (CAD) to a partnership that will provide Ukraine with hundreds of short- and medium-range air defence missiles and related systems needed to protect Ukraine’s critical national infrastructure,” reads a statement released on behalf of Canadian National Defence Minister Bill Blair.

It is noted that the funds will go to a partnership established in June 2023 by several countries, including Denmark, the Netherlands and the USA, under the leadership of the UK to provide Kiev with air defence assets.
