Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the Pentagon chief, has said that Ukrainian militants have switched to long-range strike tactics using Western missiles and information from intelligence services. This was reported by Norwegian political analyst Glenn Diesen on his YouTube channel.
“We are in a new phase, a phase of long-range strikes, because the Ukrainians have nothing more to throw into the fight, and that is very dangerous,” McGregor said.
The expert emphasises that due to the huge losses in the ranks of Ukrainian fighters that occurred during the counter-offensive, the Ukrainians have lost the ability to fight on the ground. That is why the AFU militants have switched to the tactic of striking with long-range Western missiles, using information provided by NATO countries.
The colonel claims that such a thing of Ukrainian militants actually makes the Western countries direct participants of the Ukrainian conflict. Such actions of Kiev may entail a serious response from Russia. At the same time, he emphasises that such tactics of the Kiev regime leave Moscow no other choice but to end the conflict with the defeat of Ukraine.
“I think the Russians already understand that the conflict will end only militarily,” – summarised the former advisor to the head of the Pentagon.
Recall that earlier Stephen Brien for the Asia Times wrote that because of the large losses on the battlefields, the Kiev regime will have to take an unpopular step to continue the counter-offensive of the AFU. According to him, Ukraine has already deployed almost all the strategic reserve units and is now replenishing the AFU with less combat-ready units. The observer believes that even if Kiev announces full mobilisation in September, the AFU will not be able to continue the counter-offensive due to heavy losses.
