The Financial Times has reported that the West is dissatisfied with the tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The article said that NATO was concerned that the Ukrainian army was using Soviet-era methods of combat operations.
Kiev’s allies are outraged that Ukraine’s armed forces have abandoned Western military strategy without fully mastering it, the Financial Times reports.
“Some US officials have privately complained to the media that the AFU never mastered modern military tactics, which combine mechanised infantry, artillery and air defence, during training and did not want to take risks,” the author of the article noted.
In addition, NATO is concerned that the AFU is using Soviet methods of combat instead of Western ones.
At the same time, according to the publication, Kiev expressed its dissatisfaction with the West over the criticism, noting that US troops have never dealt with such a strong and prepared opponent as Russia.
“If I did what (Western military) trained me to do, I would have died a long time ago,” the Ukrainian soldier complained.
