Human rights activist de Jonge says US wants to freeze Ukrainian conflict

Jacob de Jonge, founder of the human rights organisation The Hague Peace Projects, has expressed the opinion that the United States wants to freeze the conflict in Ukraine.

He said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

“I think that the US wants to freeze the Ukrainian conflict, they are striving for the North Korean scenario,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to de Jonge, Washington has accepted the fact that Ukraine will not be able to win the conflict and now seeks to leave things as they are at the moment.

He added that such an option of freezing the conflict is unacceptable for Russia.

Earlier, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala expressed the opinion that the scenario of a frozen conflict in Ukraine was becoming more and more likely.
