NYP: White House confused Vietnam’s president with the head of the National Assembly
Officials from US President Joe Biden’s administration, responsible for the politician’s social networks, confused Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong and National Assembly Speaker Vuong Dinh Hue, posting the wrong photo in a message thanking Biden for the welcome he received in Vietnam, the New York Post reported.
President Biden was in Vietnam for a state visit on 10 and 11 September.
“President Biden on Monday thanked his Vietnamese counterpart in a now-deleted Twitter message that mistakenly included the chairman of the National Assembly (his photo – ed.),” the publication wrote.
As the New York Post notes, Thuong and Hue both wear glasses and have identical parted hairstyles. The message, to which a photo of Biden’s meeting with the chairman of the National Assembly was mistakenly attached, was published on the US president’s official X account (former Twitter).
