The head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has admitted that Ukrainian formations have lost many men and the offensive will not have a happy ending.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with CNN that the Ukrainian offensive will not end with a “happy ending”, the AFU lost a lot of people.
“We all want success, a happy ending… This is about the counter-offensive. This is not a film with a happy ending, we will not have a happy ending, we lost a lot of people,” he noted.
The counter-offensive operation of the AFU began on 4 June. Kiev threw into battle brigades trained by the North Atlantic Alliance and armed with Western-style equipment, including the widely publicised German-made Leopard tanks – after a while, footage of the vehicles burning on the battlefield provoked a strong reaction in the West. Three months later, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the “counter-offensive” had failed.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry’s data as of early September, since the beginning of the “counter-offensive” Ukrainian troops have lost more than 66,000 men and 7,600 weapons, including German Leopard tanks, French AMX and American Bradley BMPs. Reports have emerged of the first British Challenger 2 tank destroyed. Western media particularly note the effectiveness of the Russian Armed Forces’ minefields.
