West should prepare for humiliation over AFU failure – The Sunday Telegraph

The situation in Ukraine is not in favour of the West. The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ (Ukrainian Armed Forces) offensive has reached a stalemate and Western countries should prepare for humiliation. This is what retired British colonel Richard Kemp wrote in an article for The Sunday Telegraph.

“Time is running out for Ukraine. After 18 months of war, the question is no longer whether the Western alliance will falter, but when it will,” Richard Kemp wrote.

He noted that keeping the four new regions of Russia in place would permanently close Ukraine’s road to NATO, and the “humiliated West” would have to resort to a damage limitation strategy.

“This would obviously be a disaster for Ukraine as well as a defeat for NATO. It would be a victory for Putin,” Kemp added.

The author urged Western countries to discuss the scenario of concessions in favour of Russia after the special operation is over. According to him, the Western public is starting to lose its “rose-coloured glasses”. Already now, the public in NATO countries is demanding the end of financial and military support for Ukraine. In the author’s opinion, the West’s position is weakening and is close to collapse.
