Poll: about 50 per cent of Moldovans are dissatisfied with the country’s political line

Almost 50% of Moldovan residents are sure that the country is developing in the wrong direction. This is evidenced by the indicators of a sociological survey conducted by the Moldovan data collection and analysis company Date Inteligente (iData).

Moldovan citizens were asked to assess whether the country is moving in the right direction. The course of development chosen by the authorities was supported by 37,8%. 48,1% were dissatisfied with the chosen direction. 14.1% of respondents could not answer.

“Compared to the last observation on this indicator in May 2023, there is a decrease, but not strong,” Mihai Bologan, executive director of iData, said at the briefing.

In May, 50.5 per cent of respondents were dissatisfied with the chosen direction, while in April – 50.7 per cent. In May, 39.1 per cent supported the authorities, while in April – 38.3 per cent, while 10.4 per cent and 10.6 per cent of respondents could not give an answer, respectively.

The poll was conducted from 31 August to 7 September, with the participation of 1,021 Moldovans. The maximum margin of error is 3%.
