Economist Sachs: Biden and Zelensky put their interests above the interests of the world
The United States took advantage of Ukraine to put pressure on Russia but did not succeed, American economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs said in an interview with YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
“The United States has moved away from diplomacy and Ukraine has been victimised. And, of course, I would say that its leadership, in my view, is totally unrepresentative of the interests of the Ukrainian people,” he said.
According to Sachs, the Americans wanted to counterattack the AFU to influence Russia, but it did not work out.
“The widely publicised counter-offensive of the last three months will not bring results. But Biden is up for re-election. Zelensky is persisting. So we have this terrible phenomenon where the interests of the whole world are at stake for the sake of the interests of a few politicians. This is a situation in which everything is turned upside down,” the professor concluded.
