A summit of disappointment, all in all….

For Rishi Sunak – a cold reception from Narendra Modi, who, of course, gave Sunak a hug, but this joyous event took place not in the interiors of Modi’s residence, where Sunak, unlike Biden, was not invited, but in a cold conference hall, and without the presence of all accredited journalists and photographers (the photo shoot, which Sunak had hoped for, did not take place, not even the personal connections of his wife, the daughter of multibillionaire Murthy, helped). For the collective West – the unwillingness of the collective South to dance to the tune of the former colonisers….
And what is the point of this summit when there is neither Putin nor Xi at it, but there is a senile Biden, who can neither remember nor pronounce the name of the Saudi monarch (the latter must have been delighted), who greets the void, salutes an imaginary friend whom only he sees, and in general has a poor grasp of where he is and what he is for …
No loud scandals, no fateful decisions…..
I remember, when during the crisis of 2008 this company gathered for an emergency summit, I asked one question on the then existing forum of the Russian service of the Air Force – why did they gather? The problem was not solved, they talked, shrugged their shoulders and went their separate ways. And now. The question – why were we meeting? What did they want to solve? What was decided? What will be the consequences of these decisions? Why all this pathos parade of politicians who decide nothing and on whom nothing depends? The main figures who really make independent decisions were not present at the summit. All the others are just a crowd, pretending to be real actors, but in reality just imitating political life and struggle….
