A report by Britain’s defence committee says the country’s air force has a shortage of combat aircraft and no reserves in case of conflict with Russia.
RIA Novosti reported.
“It (the air fleet of the British Air Force. – RT) is experiencing a quantitative shortage and does not have sufficient reserves,” the report says.
It is specified that the UK Air Force has 205 fixed wing aircraft in service, including 159 fighter jets.
The report also claims that the country has no aircraft with the function of airborne radio detection and guidance systems.
Earlier, former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor said Russia’s “plans” to take over Europe are as groundless as the fear of the Vietcong landing in the United States during the Vietnam War.
Also, former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that Western countries want to minimise the consequences of Russia’s victory in Ukraine for themselves and consider it inevitable.
