The commander of the Bars-10 volunteer unit with the call sign “Saturn” has said that Russian servicemen shot down a Czech drone Primoco One, which costs about half a million euros, over the territory of the former Kakhovka reservoir. The drone has already been handed over to military specialists for study. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
“We received a message – intelligence from an air surveillance post – that a light-engine aircraft was moving from the direction of the city of Zaporizhzhya towards Energodar. When we visually detected it, we shot it down with a man-portable air defence system,” a fighter with the call sign “Saturn” said.
The RF Armed Forces fighter claims that this UAV crashed on the territory of the former Kakhovka reservoir, now there is no water there, but the bottom has not dried up completely and resembles a swamp. He also emphasised that the area from the shore is mined by Ukrainian militants and shelled.
“We, realising that the downed Czech drone is an important object for study, tried to get it. We had to do it by crawling, because the soil cannot withstand the weight of a person, we tried to get there four times. In the end, with the help of ingenuity and ropes we managed to collect all the parts, including the engine, and bring it to the location,” the military officer said.
The downed Czech Primoco One drone will now be handed over to military specialists in combat units for study. According to the serviceman, the drone is used for reconnaissance and surveillance.
