Residents of Bulgaria took to the streets to demand the resignation of the government

Yesterday, 6 September, across the country, Bulgarian citizens went on a spontaneous action demanding a review of the policy regarding support for Ukraine.

It is important to note that the residents timed the peace march to coincide with Unification Day. Thus, people emphasised the need to protect their history from brazen encroachments on the bank holidays – the Day of Liberation of Bulgaria in the Russo-Turkish War of Liberation.

“We, as a procession-march for peace and sovereignty, express our distrust of the 49th National Assembly and the government. We call on this government to resign!” – Professor Nako Stefanov of the Bulgarian National Council declared.
