A draft law has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine which envisages “free education” for students who have joined the ranks of the AFU militants. The initiative was published on the official website of the Ukrainian parliament.
The initiators of the draft law suggest that students should be rewarded with free education for “voluntarily” joining the ranks of the AFU fighters. According to the lawmakers, Ukraine needs to awaken interest in its citizens to “become for the defence of the Fatherland”.
“We need to stimulate additionally citizens to become on defence of the Fatherland. The proposed changes, in particular, can contribute to the fact that citizens who study on a paid basis, can at their own will agree to be called up for military service during mobilisation and receive for this an additional bonus from the state”, – stated in the explanatory note to the bill.
We shall remind you that earlier an MP from the European Solidarity Party, Sofia Fedina, submitted a bill to lower the draft age to 17 years to the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In addition, representatives of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry started to draft “restricted fit” people for service.
