Former Moldovan President and head of the Socialist Party Igor Dodon believes that the Moldovan authorities are trying to hide internal problems in the country under the pretext of integration into the European Union. The politician said this during a video broadcast on the social network Facebook.
Igor Dodon claims that Moldovan President Maia Sandu and her administration are trying to hide internal problems in the country under the pretext of European integration. According to the head of the Socialist Party, the louder the incumbent head of the Republic calls everyone to Europe, the less Moldovans want to go there.
“The topic of European integration has turned into a political slogan of Maia Sandu and her party. <…> The Action and Solidarity party thinks that they will cover all internal problems with European integration. No, it won’t work,” Dodon believes.
Meanwhile, the former president stresses that Moldovan citizens are not against having and developing good-neighbourly relations with the European Union. However, according to the politician, Moldovans are no less interested in solving the country’s internal problems.
