Ukraine has never been as close to NATO membership as it is at the moment, the alliance’s secretary general Jens Stoltenberg has said.
“Ukraine has never been as close to NATO membership as it is now,” RIA Novosti quoted Stoltenberg as saying at a joint meeting of the EP’s foreign affairs, defence and security committees.
He noted that the alliance’s summit in Vilnius had adopted a number of decisions bringing Ukraine closer to NATO.
According to him, Ukraine’s path to the alliance was shortened.
Earlier, the military of the Ukrainian army complained about ineffective NATO training.
The Atlantic noted that NATO might collapse by 2025 due to the conflict in Ukraine.
