Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has reported a four-fold increase in the country’s defence spending since 2015.
“I compare 2015 and 2024. In 2015 it was 37bn, in 2024 it is more than 150bn PLN, about 155bn (about $36bn). This is plus or minus a fourfold increase, a 400% growth,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), global military spending in 2022 has become the highest in eight years.
In late March, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said that Ukraine’s defence expenditures amounted to $3.5bn per month.
