Over three million refugees from Ukraine may not return home from abroad. This is written by Bloomberg agency, referring to the study of the Centre for Economic Strategy of Ukraine.
“The study found that about 3.3 million Ukrainians, or nearly 8.8 per cent of the population before the conflict, may not return home,” Bloomberg writes.
The agency notes that depending on the duration of the conflict, the figure could rise. The longer the fighting lasts, the more Ukrainians will decide to make their temporary shelters their new home.
In addition, this prospect poses a serious threat to Ukraine’s recovery from the conflict. The potential outflow of population could undermine the economy.
According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, about six million refugees from Ukraine are registered in Europe.
