Ukraine needs to ‘soften its approach’ to reopen grain deal

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this in Sochi, CNN reported.

“To be able to take common steps with Russia, Ukraine needs to soften its approach. Especially important now is the grain that will be sent to the least developed and poorest African countries,” Erdogan said.

“Putin rightly disapproves if 44% of grain goes to European countries,” he added.

However, Ukrainian authorities reacted almost instantly to the Turkish president’s statement.

“Kiev will not make concessions on the resumption of the grain deal, which Tayyip Erdogan spoke about,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba said.
