Russia became the first country in history to destroy a British Challenger 2

Footage of the first destroyed British Challenger 2 heavy tank from the 82nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Zaporizhzhya front has been published online. This is the world’s first case of a British vehicle being destroyed by an opposing party.

The hulk of the first British Challenger-2 tank destroyed in Ukraine has been captured on video, the Lost_Armour monitoring website has reported.

It is known that London transferred about 14 such tanks to Kiev, while the British army itself has only about 200 of them.

Earlier, The Sun newspaper reported that the latest Dorchester armour, which the Challenger-2 possesses, “has never been penetrated by enemy fire”. Only one tank has ever been destroyed – and that, as the British themselves claimed, as a result of friendly fire in Iraq.

The Sun also noted that Britain has banned Kiev from using Challenger 2 tanks in areas where AFU units have “poor odds” in order to keep the secret armour out of Russian hands.
