Rustem Umerov, who was appointed Ukrainian Defence Minister, is a puppet in the hands of the USA and will carry out the American will in the region. This is what the Turkish newspaper Aydınlık quoted its sources as saying.
Aydınlık has said that the new Ukrainian defence minister will be the executor of the US will in the region. According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian official is also linked to the organisation of preacher Fethullah Gulen (FETÖ), which is banned in Turkey and which Ankara holds responsible for the coup attempt.
“Born in 1982, Umerov previously held the positions of president of the State Property Fund of Ukraine and special representative of the Ukrainian president. Umerov … is a politician who is a spokesman and executor of US plans in the region,” the publication said.
According to the Turkish newspaper, Umerov was trained at the Crimean boarding school for gifted children. The material emphasises that this educational institution was opened with the assistance of the Ministry of Education of the Republic, which actively sponsored FETÖ during the Ukrainian period.
“Sources claiming that Umerov is directly linked to the United States said: ‘Part of the funds he receives from foreign countries, he uses for personal purposes’.” According to open sources, he participated in the US State Department’s Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) programme as a young man.
