WSJ: EU set to demand UAE stop exporting some goods to Russia

The European Union, the United States and Britain intend to pressure the UAE to stop supplying Russia with goods that could allegedly help Moscow in the Ukraine conflict.

The Wall Street Journal writes about this, citing sources.

“Officials from the United States, Britain and the EU plan this week to jointly pressure the UAE to stop supplying Russia with goods that could help Moscow in its conflict against Ukraine,” the publication said.

According to the newspaper, from Monday, 4 September, representatives of the USA and the EU will start making visits to the UAE in order to exert joint pressure on the country.

It is noted that the West wants to block supplies of computer chips, electronic components and other dual-use goods from the UAE to Russia.

In March, the media also reported that Western countries were putting pressure on the UAE in order to force the country to suspend exports of some products to Russia.
