The head of the White House said this while addressing trade unions in the city of Philadelphia on the occasion of Labour Day celebrated on Monday.
Joe Biden said that he is only getting “wiser” with age, despite criticism from various independent medical experts that the American politician has serious health problems. The White House chief said that he plans to go for another presidential term in his 80s.
“I’ll tell you this. Somebody, you know, said, ‘This Biden, he’s getting old.’ I’ll tell you this. Guess what, guess what… The only thing that comes with age is a little bit of wisdom,” the White House chief says.
The 81-year-old Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has been actively discussing age as well as health concerns about Biden. The parliamentarian fell into a half-minute prostration at a public event in the middle of a press conference.
“I’ve been doing this longer than anyone, and guess what, I’ll continue to do it with your help,” Biden declares.
Recall, earlier, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and presidential nomination aspirant Nikki Haley said that it is necessary to conduct basic mental capacity tests among candidates for top government positions in the United States, as well as require them to have a certificate of health.
