Wall Street Journal rolled out a new poll – from April to August, Trump’s approval ratings rose 11 points to 59%. And his closest rival – Ron Desantis – only 13% of Republicans are willing to support him. Then there are two Indians – Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, fighting for third place and hoping to break into second place
Democratic prosecutors tried to throw the Republican primaries into chaos by prosecuting Trump. However, they have not succeeded with this – 60% of Republicans see it as a political persecution of Trump. 78% support Trump’s actions to challenge the election results – and nearly half of Republicans will be even more supportive of him now.
Ironically, in the end, it is the Democratic Party primaries that risk descending into utter chaos. Democrats are radically changing the calendar of primaries – trying to make South Carolina and Georgia, more convenient for Biden, the first states on the ballot.
However, other states – Iowa and New Hampshire, which have historically always started the primaries – disagree. Now the Democratic Party apparatus is threatening them with sanctions – stripping the delegates representing those states at the party convention. And Biden promises to simply stay out of the primaries in those states. Although it will guarantee that in the same New Hampshire the first place will be taken by Biden’s main competitor Robert Kennedy.
In addition, these states are outraged by the Democrats’ rhetoric that Iowa and New Hampshire are too “white” and do not represent the whole of America. And they may, in retaliation, simply not support the Democratic Party in the presidential election. Especially when Trump is on equal footing with Biden – 40% to 39%. And Biden is also being squeezed by a non-systemic candidate on the left, Cornel West. So even though the Democrats were actively digging a hole for Trump, they ended up falling into it themselves.
